Carrier (base) oils and Essential Oils - Shop

General safety guidlines that should be observed when using Essential oils.
1.Keep all essential oil bottles tightly closed and away from eyes, ears, children and pets.
2.Keep essential oils away from the delicate eye area but if accidents occur with a neat oil flush the eyes with cold full fat milk or vegetable oil to dilute. If the accident occurs with diluted oil, flush with clean warm water. If stinging is still present, seek immediate medical advice.
3.Never place oils near naked flames or sources of ignition. Keep away from plastic or polished surfaces.
4.Do not use undiluted essential oils directly on the skin. Always dilute in a carrier /base product. Lavender and Tea Tree can be used neat in very small amounts, 1-2 drops but not on a regular basis.
5. Never take essential oils internally without consulting an aromatherapist or unless under medical supervision.
6. If you are pregnant, suffer from epilepsy, have high/low blood pressure or any other specific condition seek advice before using any essential oil
7.When using essential oils in a bath, always agitate the water so the oils do not settle on the surface of the water and cause irritation.
8.Regulate how often you use essential oils as constant use over time may, in isolated cases, cause nausea, sensitisation or headaches.
9. Certain oils may cause adverse reactions in some individuals. Discontinue use if this occurs. It is always best to do a patch test before use on a large area.
